State of Louisiana Welcomes 2,100 Early Childhood Providers to New Orleans

What an amazing time we had at the Louisiana Department of Education’s Early Childhood Conference in New Orleans at the end of July 2022. We were thrilled to be joined by over 2,100 early childhood professionals from across the State of Louisiana for this wonderful educational event.

We conducted six sessions during the 4-day conference and focused on training early childhood educators on situational awareness and de-escalation techniques. As recent events have demonstrated, it is so important to be aware of your surroundings and also be able to lower the temperature during stressful situations. The last thing any of us want is to inadvertently escalate a situation and have any sort of violent encounter at our programs.

Attendees greatly enjoyed our training sessions and we received positive feedback throughout the conference.

We also used the conference as an opportunity to announce our renewed partnership with the Louisiana Department of Education. During the 2022-2023 school year we will be presenting a wide variety of workshops and training opportunities all across Louisiana. We are beyond grateful for this opportunity and very appreciative of the proactive steps that the Louisiana Department of Education has made to help ensure early childhood programs are as safe, secure and prepared as possible.

We are so appreciative of our relationship with Louisiana and this new initiative builds upon the work we conducted in 2019 that was sponsored by the Louisiana Department of Health, the Louisiana EMS for Children Program, Northwestern State Child and Family Network, and the Woman's Foundation.

We look forward to continuing our work in Louisiana!
