CORONAVIRUS RESOURCES AND INFORMATION

Our mission has been and will always be to support early childhood programs. We have no hidden agenda. Your health & safety is our top priority. We have been disappointed by the lack of uniformity across the country in guidance for early childhood professionals.

Based on the latest information, as of March 23rd, we encourage child care programs to temporarily cease operations. We do not take this decision lightly, as we recognize the financial impact this will have on many. Please read our full post on the subject, which you can find here: Coronavirus: It is Time for Child Care Programs to Close

We recognize child care is an essential service and it is vital that front line workers have access to child care. For those continuing to operate, check out our online course for recommendations on how best to continue operations during this public health crisis.

FIND INFORMATION ON YOUR STATE!

The Institute for Childhood Preparedness is committed to providing you with the latest information during the COVID-19 Coronavirus pandemic. We understand that these are challenging times and there is a considerable amount of conflicting information at this time. Our experts are committed to helping cut through the noise and provide you with the essential information you need as an early childhood professional.

The image above depicts the current status of early childhood programs in the United States. While over 38 states have opted to close their K-12 programs, we have not seen similar action taken to close early childhood programs. This disparate approach is confusing. Currently, only six states have closed early childhood programs.

Your health and safety is of the utmost importance to us. We continue to engage public health departments, licensing authorities and policy makers about the latest scientific information on coronavirus. While many sectors are beginning to recognize that child care is essential - that does not mean that early childhood professionals should work without the highest levels of safety and protection.

Our online Coronavirus course provides a plethora of information from pandemic and public health experts. Please check this page often, and refer to our blogs below, as they are constantly updated with the
latest information.
