Updated: Jan 7, 2021

We have great news to share! Our on-demand introductory active shooter preparedness training is live and open for enrollment! We put a lot of thought into what our 2020 training calendar should look like. We knew we wanted to create online courses to fill a gap in early childhood learning. And we felt the best way to introduce ourselves to early childhood professionals is by offering our most popular training course, active shooter preparedness for early childhood professionals!

Who Is This Active Shooter Preparedness Training Course For?

Childcare professionals have an awesome responsibility. Not only do you provide a caring environment for infants, toddlers, and children, but you also must provide a safe and secure environment.

Our active shooter preparedness course will provide real-world prevention techniques to secure your facility long before an active assailant arrives.

This course is specifically designed for early childhood professionals, those that care for infants, toddlers, and children, Child Care Resource and Referral organizations, parents, child care providers, child care directors, and early childhood learning institutions.

How Does the Course Work?

Active shooter preparedness for early childhood professionals is an online course that lets you work at your own pace. We designed this course for busy early childhood professionals who are looking to increase program security and learn vital techniques to ensure the safety of the children in their care.

Can I Take the Course Any Time?

Yup! The course is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. You can work through each module as time allows. You also have the convenience of starting and stopping each module, and you’re allowed to go back in case you miss something important.

The Course is Split into Four Modules:

  1. Introduction

  2. Knowledge Check

  3. Active Shooter Basics

  4. Comprehensive Approach to Safety and Security

The course modules are designed to build on one another, so everything you learn in module 1 helps you to understand the information in modules 2, 3, and 4. Because this training is on-demand, you’ll be able to start and stop each module at your convenience. When you have completed all four modules, you will be issued a certificate of completion.

What’s Included in the Active Shooter Preparedness Course?

The course is taught by our Executive Director, Andrew Roszak-JD, MPA, EMT-P. Andrew has over 20 years of experience in emergency preparedness, response, and recovery, with the last 5 solely dedicated to early childhood preparedness. Andrew will walk you through each module with interactive videos, slides, and explainer graphics.
